Lighthouse Confirmation Peer Ministry Program Introduction

The Lighthouse Program is a supplemental Confirmation program that empowers Confirmed high school students to serve as peer ministers to younger candidates preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation (ages 10-16). It is about befriending, caring for, and helping Confirmation candidates celebrate their Confirmation in ways that encourage them to begin their journey into adult faith. Learn more at this link.

This booklet provides program directors with the rationale for the program and practical steps to set it up in your church or school. 

For the program you will need the following booklets:

• Leadership Sessions: 1 for each high school leader
• Peer Ministry Sessions: 1 for each high school leader and each Confirmation candidate
• Prayer Services: 1 for each high school leader and at least 1 for every 2 Confirmation candidates (if you are going to have them share)
