This is a book about memory, about what stays in the mind, and why. It is a book about the presence of God in our lives and the sights, sounds, words, and experiences that become unforgettable. Beginning with a single word he heard in the middle of the night—one that changed his life—this powerful memoir by Gregory Floyd asks the question: without memory, who are we? It is a meditation on beauty, marriage, family, and prayer, asking of the memories that each implants: what do they reveal? Where do they lead? —and witnessing to their potential to draw us to God.

Praise
Gregory Floyd has fashioned a fine spiritual memoir, tracing how one man could hear the call of Jesus as a teenager, and strive to answer that call as a student, husband, father, believer. Unforgettable is just that, helping us to see how we can come to know, love, and serve God through the everyday ups and downs of our lives.
Gregory Floyd’s writing is like salve for the soul, full of love for others and a humility that comes with life’s experiences. I not only discovered many lessons for my own life, but I encountered the beauty of a God who forgets and wipes away all of my sins.
Jeff Smith, President, The Word Among Us
Unforgettable is beautifully written, emotionally wrenching, and important.
Ron Hansen, novelist, Mariette in Ecstasy
This meditation on memory is not merely a journey into the past but a pilgrimage to the Sacred Heart of reality.
Joseph Pearce, The Augustine Institute, author of Tolkien: Man and Myth
Gregory Floyd has written a kind of modern-day Augustine’s Confessions, but without the continuous narrative of the latter, and with the theology, which Augustine kept for his later chapters, saturating the text from the start. Flashbacks of memory mesh with themes from Scripture, and the Catholic tradition at large. Grief and joy are here and much that lies in between. Unforgettable shows what the life of a Catholic layman, husband, father, can be in and for the Church.
Fr. Aidan Nichols, OP, author of Deep Mysteries: God, Christ and Ourselves
A magnificent testimony. The writing is poetic and lyrical; the content is vulnerable and engaging. Unforgettable is a moving witness of a living faith, rooted in the treasury of the Church’s spiritual riches and fully engaged in family, community and the world. Inspiring!
Unforgettable lives up to its title, and then some. Part memoir, part meditation, it is a haunting remembrance of things past and how they live in the present. Gregory Floyd has created a quietly eloquent, prayerful celebration of God’s presence which is both personal and universal. A book to savor, share and, yes, remember. A beautiful work.
Hope, beauty, and the presence of God are made real and reachable through a life marked by pain and joy. Unforgettable is a rich experience of life in the Spirit.
What does the drama of salvation history look like in an individual life? You’ll find it here.
Using the most salient, unbidden, and recurrent memories of his own life, Gregory Floyd weaves a deep story of the experience of God’s presence. In each of life’s moments, God invites us to adventure, and gives us meaning and purpose beyond all imagining.
Gregory Floyd offers an uplifting testimony to a life given over to God’s creative power.
Gregory Floyd’s book is a testimony to the power of extraordinary grace at work in ordinary people. I found myself recalling my own journey - from idyllic childhood through the turbulence of adolescence, and into the acceptance and wisdom of my senior years. An inspiring work.
Ever since the Lord knit us together in our mother’s womb (Ps 139), he is there with us. Yet the constant ‘noise’ of the modern world so often drowns the voice of God who is continually and patiently beckoning us to himself. Floyd, in beautifully written prose and engaging stories, reminds us that the Lord is 'with us always’ (Matthew 18:20) and we are never far from his love. I recommend this book to all who are seeking to discover more deeply this loving God who is ever present throughout our lives journey.
'Home.' This is the word that reverberates throughout Unforgettable. From the very first pages, I felt that I had been welcomed into Gregory Floyd's various homes and introduced to the wonderful people who have shared his life. What an honor to be invited! And, what an inspiration to glimpse the home of his soul, joining him there on an adventure of faith where we, too, are encouraged to encounter God who loves us dearly and wants to create a Divine home within each of us. Just as I have read, re-read, and recommended Gregory's book, A Grief Unveiled, I will be doing the same with the touching and inspiring Unforgettable.
Beautifully written, lyrical, poetic, yet lucidly clear. Deeply personal yet of universal interest. Profoundly insightful and humbly honest. Culturally sensitive. A beautiful work of memoir, testimony, and spirituality.
