The last words of Jesus contain the story and promise of his entire life.  Art Zannoni unpacks them for us in this beautiful volume with faith and insight.  Read these seven meditations slowly.  Re-read them as you would Scripture in Lectio Divina. Let the words sink into your heart and you will walk away from this encounter more deeply rooted in Divine love.

—Bill Huebsch, from the Foreward

This books explores the seven last sentences spoken by Jesus from the Cross prior to his death as recorded in the four Gospels. It examines Jesus’ final legacy by reflecting on how each Gospel portrays his departing words. At the end of each chapter, discussion questions and prayer starters are provided so that readers may apply Jesus’ last words to their own faith lives.

Art Zannoni is an award-winning freelance writer, scripture scholar, teacher, theologian, workshop leader and consultant in the areas of biblical studies and Christian-Jewish relations. He is an engaging speaker and a master teacher who combines the best of scholarship with humor and clear explanation.
