The rosary is a way of prayer in which we join with Mary, the mother of Jesus, in praying to God as we meditate on the life of Jesus. This prayer reminds us of various parts of Jesus' life called mysteries and helps us reflect on those mysteries as we pray the Hail Mary. This reflection enriches our encounter with Jesus in word and sacrament.

Praying the Rosary with Scripture in Four Languages guides us through praying the rosary step by step. A Scripture reference and short quotation is given for each mystery, enhancing our prayer with reflection on the Word of God.

Praying the Rosary with Scripture in Four Languages includes an introduction and how-to guide to the rosary as well as the Prayers of the Rosary, How To Pray the Rosary, and The Mysteries of the Rosary in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Tagalog.

The Rosary befits beginners as well as those proficient in the prayer life. Using an ecumenically oriented approach, this age-old and beloved practice is here presented to an audience approaching it as if for the first time. Each mystery, prayed alone or in common, is accompanied by a short verse or verses from Scripture to foster meditation on the mysteries of Christ. This simple, multi-lingual book can serve as an invitation to contemplation and as an inspiration to closer discipleship.

Especially as a Dominican I am devoted to the Holy Rosary as a prayer and I read Zachary Wilberding's Praying the Rosary with Scripture which includes the new Luminous Mysteries, very clear, helpful in making this a truly meditative prayer that is soundly based on the biblical sources and in line with the Church's Sacred Tradition. I will recommend it warmly to those learning the Rosary for the first time or simply wanting to pray it better.
Benedict M. Ashley, O.P., Professor of Theology Emeritus, Aquinas Institute of Theology, St. Louis, Missouri
Brother Zachary explains that the `mysteries' of the rosary `are called mysteries because they are things on which we can reflect and ponder to help us grow in our love of Jesus.' With this little book he has given us a great help for out reflection. For each mystery he provides a few select verses to ponder on ordinary days, but he also tells us where to find whole passages for the days when we have the luxury of a longer reflection time. Both the old friends who have treasured this prayer of the church from childhood and newcomers to its beauty will find nourishment here.
Irene Nowell, OSB
In his Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae, Pope John Paul II said that the rosary ` though clearly Marian in character, is at hear and Christocentric prayer. In the sobriety of its elements, it has all the depth of the gospel message in its entirely, of which it can be said to be a compendium.' Brother Zachary Wilberding's work will help `beginners' to appreciate this perennial prayer of the Church; it will help those who have been long devoted to it to enter more fully into the mystery of the life, death, and resurrection of Christ.
