In his previous book, A Sacred Voice is Calling, John Neafsey outlined the connections between vocation and social conscience. But vocation, as he shows here, is about more than what we do for a living; it is also about the kind of people we are meant to be, and how we are meant to live. It is not something reserved for particular moments of decision; it is an unfolding process over the whole of life—from childhood to adulthood and old age.

Drawing both on the stories of exemplary individuals as well as his own experiences in parenting, work, and care for aging parents, Neafsey outlines how our fundamental human vocation—a call to justice, love, and humility—is realized in all the stages of life.
