“This book grew out of a sense of urgency. In the face of the sad spectacle of divisions, fears, wars and inequalities that pervades our world, in the face of the depression and despair of so many young people, I dare to share with you a path of hope that was opened to me..”
Part autobiography, part memoir, part call to action to walk a path to unity and peace, this new book by L’Arche founder Jean Vanier is profoundly inspiring and filled with hope.
True freedom, Vanier writes, grows from loving others and letting ourselves be loved. In meeting those on the margins, we heal our own hearts and are able to work for a transformation of societies.
Jean Vanier has spent his life working in the cause of peace and dignity for all people. If you know his work, this volume will be a necessary addition to your collection. If this is your first encounter, you won’t be disappointed, and you will be inspired and enlightened by Vanier’s hope-filled wisdom and gentle spirit.
